Sparkle

This is the season where the sun dims but festival lights are illuminated. Feasts are shared and prepared. Consider slowing down so that if you are the preparer of this food you can infuse it with love and caring so that when others receive it they can be truly nourished by the love and care you put into it. Each celebration can be a transformative event when you share your gratitude, love, and blessings this way. It creates a flow of light, a circle of love, from giver to receiver and back again. Take your time to savor these moments. Use your active listening skills to stay engaged with your tribe. Add play to your celebrations and days ahead with music and movement, fun board or card games, or some sort of sharing game. it’s a wonderful time to engage in storytelling from elders or about the time you met your partner and shared new traditions and rituals. The younger generation can benefit from this storytelling passed down from generation to generation.

If you find this season stressful use your mindfulness tools of meditation, exercise, and breathing. If nothing else take 3 deep breaths –

  • Breathe in to the count of 4
  • Hold
  • Breathe out to the count of 4
  • Pause
  • And do it again for at least 3 times

During this week move into your gratitude practice even more and sparkle as you move through your days. Each day will illuminate for you as we head towards the holidays.
